SMSC is working toward a street medicine elective course at Benjamin Franklin High School that would introduce students to ethics, outreach, service, and public health through a more formal educational pathway.
SMSC is developing a new volunteer program with the New Orleans VA Medical Center focused on supporting homeless veterans through a structured service model and specialized training expectations.
SMSC is working with high schools, community health centers, and Rice University in Houston to establish a volunteer program rooted in mentorship, partnership, and responsible student formation.
